Q: What's the difference between ChessMath 1A, and ChessMath 1B?
A: ChessMath 1A sessions revolve around learning the beginning basics, and strategies and introductory logic principles paired with beginner chess lessons. ChessMath 1B involves intermediate to advanced strategies and principles paired with beginner/intermediate chess lessons.
Q: How many students can attend per session?
A: ChessMath sessions are limited to a maximum of 10 students per session, and additional sessions will be created based on demand.
Q: What materials will be provided to my student if I sign up for ChessMath?
A: Chess board, graph and chess notation notebooks, pen/pencil, ruler, and puzzle packet handout.
Q: Does my student need to know anything about chess?
A: No, there’s no requirement to be, or have been a chess player, although children should have a basic understanding of chess and how the pieces move.
Q: What grades is ChessMath for?
A: ChessMath is for students in grades 1-6.
Q: How does ChessMath relate to school?
A: Each week, we use a chessboard and the chess pieces to convey mathematical insights consistent with each student's school syllabus.
